Siege of the Frostbeast
It's a chilly, snowy day as the wind blows across the field. Nash (Spooky Party Favours) walking through the cold terrain, bickering to himself in a quiet tone. Ah winter, his least favorite season. He was never really fond of winter with the snow that clung to his paws, the chilling wind that blew his hair in his face often, and of course, the ice. He continues to glare off into the distance as he walks, he just wants to go home… when all of the sudden, Nash hears a loud, “Hey! Hey you!”
Nash generally ignores it, until a chow crashes into him from the side, leaving both of them tumbling down onto the snowy ground. The chow laughs and says, “Sorry bout that! But anyways, I need your help!” Nash looks at the blonde-ish chow with a disoriented, irritated look. He gets the chow off of him and continues to walk away, but that blonde chow is persistent and says, “Hey! You can’t just walk away! Chows are in danger!”
Nash scoffs and looks back at the blonde chow, then saying, “How.” The chow looks stunned, then starts blabbering. He went so fast that Nash couldn’t understand half of what he was saying. All he could make out was the fact there was a chow freezing anything it touched, a dangerous chow. Then the blonde chow holds out its paw and says cheerfully, “Names Snowball by the way! What’s yours stranger?” Nash stares hesitant, then saying, “Nash…” He shakes Snowball’s paw and pulls his paw away after a few seconds.
Well, that’s how Nash wanted it to go. What actually happened was Snowball never let go of Nash’s paw and now they are standing about 20 feet away from a massive chow who is freezing everything in its path. Nash stares with his mouth agape, almost drooling before he yells, “That’s what you were talking about?!? No way!! I’m out!”
However Snowball doesn’t let go of Nash’s paw and says in a whine, “Come on Nash! Just give it a shot! All we have to do is cool him down!” Nash sighs loudly and says, “How.” Snowball laughs and sits down, throwing his paws in the air and saying a little too excitedly, “a snowball fight!!” Nash stares utterly shocked he even thought that would be a good idea. He then yells a little too loud, “Terrible idea! Nope, nu uh, not doing it! You’re insane!” Nash then plops down on the cold, snow-covered ground and turns his head away with his paws crossed. Snowball sighs and trots over, saying, “Come onnnn, it’ll be fun!”
Nash still sits there, stubborn like a rock, but Snowball continues to be persistent. Snowball then adds, “The chow probably just thinks it’s not cold enough! All we need to do is cool it down! A snowball fight will work! Trust me… please Nash? If you don’t help, then more chows are going to get hurt!” Nash clenches his teeth together, then lets out a sigh, “Fine.” he states with a slightly upset voice. He doesn’t want to be the cause of injured chows, and he never would want to be that cause.
Snowball throws his paws in the air and says pleasedly, “Yay! I knew you would say yes! Now come on, we got work to do!-” but Snowball is cut off as Nash puts his paw in a stop pose and says, “Not so fast. If I'm helping you, we’re doing it my way.” Snowball blinks, a little surprised, then giggles and says amused, “Alrighty, what do you have in mind to cool down Brinicle?” Nash hears the chow’s name, but doesn’t say anything about it and starts to talk to Snowball.
The plan? Simple. Snowball was assigned to dig a large hole big enough to fit Brinicle and fill it with soft, powdery snow that would make Brinicle sink right in when on it with its head still above the snow. Nothing can go wrong, right? Problem with that is that Nash assigned himself to be the bait thinking Brinicle would be slow like most larger sized chows are. He was wrong.
Nash dashes fast, the snow hitting his paws over and over again as he runs from Brinicle, his mouth open as he’s panting loudly. Nash’s heart thrumming loudly as he sees Snowball around the corner over 20 feet away. Ugh, too far. Nash’s mind is yelling, “WHY DID I EVEN DO THIS ROLE?? I'M SO STUPID, AUGHHHHH-” but then he stops his train of thought as he accidentally slips on black ice, him sliding super fast on it.
He yells loudly, trying to slow down, but then he looks back at Brinicle and doesn’t try to stop, but go faster now. Sweat running down his face as Brinicle’s loud stomps from its large clawed paws are heard. It’s getting closer, too close. Nash then yells loudly, “SNOWBALLLLLLLLLL YOU BETTER BE READY OR I’LL KILL YOU!!!” Snowball sweats around the corner, a little phased by that threat but knowing he was joking lightened the load a little.
The black ice stops at a point and Nash goes flying off of it from the amount of momentum he created from being on that black ice. He flies so high up and lands hard on the ground a little in front of the trap Snowball set. A loud slam is heard as Nash hits the hard ground, groaning from the pain and being disoriented.
He then growls under his breath, in slight pain since there was no cushion with the snow. All of the sudden though, Brinicle lets out a loud roar as it falls into the trap, sinking quickly in the powdery, soft snow. Nash looks back at Brinicle, his vision slightly blurry from the impact, and Snowball looks around the corner also at Brinicle. They both let out a sigh of relief as Brinicle calms down, looking comfy in the snow pit. Snowball then yells happily, “We did it!!”
