It's November, and Christmas is inching closer. Toys and trinkets are filling isles, as trees are being put up; the nostalgia of times when Koji and Lennon were children are being brought back. Deciding on gifts is a hard thing for Koji, he’s been thinking of what to get his brother, Lennon, for quite a while now. It has to be something meaningful, something he would use and love; but wouldn't get bored of. As he thinks in his quiet room, a message from Lennon pops up, asking if he would like to go shopping. Koji figured that maybe he could find the answer while observing and listening to his brother; then told Lennon that he would love to go. The brothers headed out and met up at a cafe, talking about how life was going and what not. Both seemed good but of course had the usual bumps in the road. However, Lennon brought up how he missed their father. This time of the year gets tough for the two of them, as their dad had passed away right before Christmas; and his favorite hat had gone missing. Koji wasn’t sure what to say or do other than comfort Lennon with a few words and pat him on the back. After finishing their drinks, the two headed out to a mall and roamed around looking for things to buy. The lego shop had caught their attention and they looked around, reminiscing old times. Koji thought to himself, that maybe something like this would be a meaningful christmas present? One that would bring back memories of good times, and when they would make amazing buildings out of legos with their father. Koji decided to keep this in the back of his mind and the brothers left to go rest next to the indoor playground. The children seemed full of energy; yelling, screaming, and jumping all over the place. As one boy zoomed around with his lego train, he quickly set it down to play tag with the others. Seeing this made Koji realize…. wouldn't this just happen if I were to buy Lennon Legos? Besides, he’s an adult now. The most that would happen is that he would build the set and quickly forget about it, leaving it to sit on a desk or table. It would be nice for him to look at every once in a while, but in the end, it would never be used again. He looked around at the playground once more, trying to find something, anything that might spark an idea… and suddenly, he saw a man. The father of the boy, picking up the lego train, and wearing a hat. This was it, the thing that was right in front of Koji this entire time. The hat! Their fathers hat was the perfect gift; one that would be meaningful, used, and loved, but not forgotten. After parting with his brother, Koji looked everywhere for this hat. The old house, the shed in the back, and even the basement of it. However, it was nowhere to be found. Thinking again, he wondered where it could possibly be. Then it hit him, their fathers belongings were given to the brothers in boxes, yet he has never opened any before due to the grief and looking at them was too much to bear until now. Rushing to his house, he opened the boxes and there it was, their fathers hat. Koji had never felt so happy to have found anything in his life and wrapped it up after thinking about the past. On Christmas day, the two brothers swapped gifts and started to open them but Lennon paused. Koji couldn't figure out if this was a good or bad thing, but suddenly his brother wept tears of joy and hugged him, telling his brother that this was the best gift he could have recieved!
