I’m so pretty, I’m full of ornaments that the little ones made, candy canes picked for the longest of my branches. Gifts toppling over beneath me and a bright red and green skirt illuminating me. Who knew that these little ones could and would be so crafty, Wish does their best, very evident they’re not destined to be an art major.

I appreciate the sentiment and the memory that’s embedded in every single piece however. How beautiful, they gather today across the table in this very room, relay stories of their adventures. Talking and laughing, drinking and eating, showing the world they exist with the memories they’ve created.

They all retire to bed except Wish, they’re hoping to catch Santa in the act. Maybe he’ll bring more gifts, maybe he’ll eat the cookies Wish attempted to make. Slowly giggling as sleep beats them, missed Santa by just a few minutes haha. What a cute kid, just barely made it to the good list.

Jangle makes their way to wish to tuck them into bed with the rest of the little ones. What a loyal friend, always the responsible one.

I find myself just as excited as they are, when the sun rises once again, I wonder when they’ll start to pour in. One by one they appear. My skirt, large enough to almost appear like a rug, they sit on top of it, in a circle, handing out gifts, tearing them to shreds, hugs and exclamations of excitement pouring from within their tiny bodies. How cute, they do a good job at showing their appreciation, even the little one that got an avocado was happy.

I think they all enjoyed the prank gifts, they laughed as Wish said Santa was silly. Indeed he is kid, indeed. I wonder when they’ll figure it out, or maybe the Christmas spirit will forever remain thanks to Wish. Santa, you’ll stay around because of kids like them. How beautiful, how beautiful it is that they are able to gather and show love so openly. I hope the years treat them nicely even after I’m out away, even after I’ve served my purpose, I hope the laughter within this home remains the same.
