Applying the Spicy trait allows your Chowling to breathe fire or have fire flowing from their body!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• The fire produced by the Chowling can be any colour. 
• The trait must be visible in the Chowling's masterlist art to be applied. If you want only the ability to produce fire, this can be shown by drawing a small wisp from the Chowling's mouth.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Firey Saffron from Chowling Cafe.

Adding this trait allows you to add Horns to your Chowling of any shape, size, material, and type. 

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Horns can be used as spikes and be added anywhere on a Chowling's body.
• Horns can be any material, as long as they are not a sentient additional creature. Horns can even be fleshy. That being said horns that are made of or resemble materials that are already alligned with other traits from the shop you will need the additional item, for example: metal horns will need the Metallic Markings trait on top.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Daikon from Chowling Cafe.

The Ear trait allows your Chowling to have any kind of ears. Any shape, size, and length is fine, but without a proper multi-limb trait, Chowlings cannot have more than two ears at a time unless they are the Monster Lineage!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Ears must be added to the head, you can't add Ears to other parts of the body.
• Things like headfins and frills do not count as Ears, the Ears NEED to be actual Ears in order to count.
• Made up Ear designs are okay as long as they actually look like Ears.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Heart Cookie from Chowling Cafe.

Applying the Iced trait allows your Chowling to breathe icy breath or grow ice crystals from their body.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Icy breath and crystals should be appropriately coloured from shades of blue-green to blue-purples and anything in between that resembles the cold!
• The trait must be visible in the Chowling's masterlist art to be applied. If you want only the ability to breathe ice, this can be shown by drawing a small wisp from the Chowling's mouth.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Frosted Ginger from Chowling Cafe.

This trait adds a fluffy fuzzy and long coat to your Chowling in the winter seasons!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Winter Coat is a seasonal coat which means it's longer and denser in the winter months, and slims down a bit in warmer seasons.
• Chowlings can have winter coat year round if desired!
• There is no true length to define what a Winter Coat is, but characters do need to appear more fluffy.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase Fluffy Pancakes from Chowling Cafe.

The Jelly trait allows parts of your Chowling's body to be made of a jelly-like substance. 

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Jelly parts do not have to be transparent, any type of gooey/slimey/jelly-like substance works for this trait.
• Jelly is only for goopy textures, to make solid see-through body parts, see the Transparent trait.
• Jelly parts can be any color.
• Jelly can hold items and can show the Chowling's insides (Keep in mind anything graphic will be censored on the website).

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Jelly from Chowling Cafe.

Giving your Chowling the Carbonated trait will let your Chowling create bubbles from inside that may release from their breath and/or bubbles that surround them when they walk!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• The bubbles your Chowling blows/has surrounding them can be any colour! 
• The trait must be visible in the Chowling's masterlist art to be applied. If you want only the ability to breathe bubbles, this can be shown by drawing a small trail of bubbles from the Chowling's mouth.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a TBA from Chowling Cafe.

Constellation is a non-bodily trait. Applying this trait will add celestial stars and planets of any color, size, and amount around your Chowling. These stars move around their body and follow them as the Chowling moves.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Constellation trait is for stars and planets only, no other floating objects of different shapes. Check out (TBA) for non-star floating objects!
• Constellation can interact with other traits.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Konpeito Candy from Chowling Cafe.

This trait adds Wings to your Chowling! Enjoying soaring above the clouds!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Wings can be of any shape and size. The Wings do not need to represent a real animal's wings and can be completely made up.
• Wings need to be attached to the body, you cannot draw them detached even if stylised. Floating Wings are a Scholar exclusive trait.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Wings are obtained though special donation events held in the Sprite Festival Discord! You can also trade for them.

Add almost any sort of Plant Growth to your Chowling's body!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Plant Growth overlaps a little bit with Aquatic Growth, but this trait only applies to non-aquatic plants.
• Plant Growth also lets you add fruits, veggies, nuts etc. that can grow from your Chowling's bodily plants!
• If you are unsure if your trait falls under this trait or Aquatic Growth, feel free to ask a mod in our Discord.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Pumpkin Pie from Chowling Cafe.

Add any sort of Aquatic Growth to your Chowling's body, any body of water counts for this: oceans, lakes, swamps, rivers etc.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Aquatic Growth does not need to be just plants, this trait can also include sea critters that attach to your Chowling such as seastars, barnacles, and coral.
• Growth needs to be found underwater/primarily in water.
• If you are unclear if your trait falls under this trait or Plant Growth feel free to ask a mod in our Discord.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Taiyaki from Chowling Cafe.

Giving your Chowling the Crackling Palms trait will give your Chowling an electrical discharge that commonly emits from the paws pads, but may also make their fur crackle with electricity.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• The electrical dischange may be any colour, but must be visibly zig-zaggy like an electrical bolt would be.
• The strength of the electrical discharge could be anywhere from small zaps to powerful shocks!
• The trait must be visible in the Chowling's masterlist art to be applied. This can be done by drawing small electrical bolts from the Chowling's paws or from their coat!

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Spider Leg Lotus from Chowling Cafe.

Adding this trait gives your Chowling Antennae. Antennae can be placed anywhere on the body and can be in any amount and shape.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Make sure it is clear what you are adding are antennae. They cannot mimic a different bodily trait (Like Whiskers).
• Antennae are not just limited to the head and can be added anywhere as long as it is clear that they are antennae.
• The antennae do not need to be based on real animal antennae and can be based on, for example, aliens!

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Purchase a Candied Bug from Chowling Cafe.

This trait adds Glow to your Chowling's body. This Glow can appear in any amount, any color, and any intensity.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Glow must be attached to the Chowling's body.
• Glow can appear in any amount. It can be very minimal, come from just the eyes, or can also cover the Chowling's entire body.
• It is possible for a Chowling to turn it's glow on and off.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

This trait turns your Chowling's skin into a soft fabric with seams to hold it together!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• These materials fall under Plushie Skin: fabric, leather, yarn.
• It must show that the skin is held together by stitches, seams, tape, or something similiar.
• This trait does not need to make the whole Chow a plush, and can appear as patches on the skin.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

The non-bodily Fog trait allows wispy fog to surround your Chowling.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Chowlings with this trait can produce clouds of fog, steam, or smoke. It can even be combined with Crackle Palms to create thunder clouds!
• The Fog can gather around them in a misty haze or seem eerily from the mouths or tails.
• These gases may be anoy colour and even form interesting shapes surrounding the Chowling!
• The trait must be visible on the Chowling's masterlist art to be applied to them!

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

The Venomous trait gives your Chowling the ability to create a venom that can be weak or strong!

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• Chowlings with this trait produce a venom that may only numb a foe or cause full paralysis.
• Some Chowlings may secrete their venom from their skin and be risky to touch!
• Chowlings with this trait must have appropriately long snake-like fangs, spikes or claws to have this trait applied. However the presence of these traits do not inherently mean the character has the Venomous trait.
• Upon submission please ensure that the character has at least one of these attributes for Venomous to be attached.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

Add this trait to make your Chowling see-through.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• You do not need to make your entire Chowling see-through with this trait, you can choose to make only some body parts see-through instead.
• If you show your Chowling's insides with this trait, make sure you remember it will be censored on the website.
• Transparent is for solid textures only, for a more goopy see-through texture, see the Jelly trait.
• Transparancy can vary in opacity.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

This trait makes your Chowling decay and become zombified while still alive. While this sounds a bit gruesome, this doesn't hurt them or cause them any harm! Since this trait is quite graphic, it is likely that your Chowling will need a censor on the website. Bear this in mind when opening the visual example below.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• The level of Decay is up to the user. It can be very minimal to an almost completely decaying zombie Chowling.
• This trait also allows you to have zombified limbs that can be removed and attached at will. These limbs can still move even when removed.
• Decay does not need to be gross, you can also use it as a trait to have detached limbs.

WHERE DO I OBTAIN THIS TRAIT?

This trait gives your Chowling an unusual blood color. This causes their skin, paws, and tongue to become a color not naturally occuring in the species.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TRAIT

• If your Chowling's blood, inner mouth, guts, paws, or base fur coat contain a colour unlike what is naturally occurring for the species, this trait needs to be applied. Chowlings have naturally colored red blood, pink mouths, and pink paws like other Earth animals. They typically have a cream underbelly or base coat. Anything other than these will require Unusual Coloration.
• This trait does not affect the eyes of a Chowling. Eyes can be any colour, have any pupil shape, etc.
• The trait must be visible on the masterlist art in order to be applied. For example, if they have green paw pads, they need to be shown to apply the trait.
